Actos
Takeda Pharmaceuticals CO. LTD drug, Actos, has been linked to an increased risk of bladder cancer. Actos is a one a day pill used to treat type 2-diabetes which is designed to control blood sugar. In June the manufacture of the drug halted sales of Actos as the company is facing hundreds of lawsuits due to the suspicion that the pill raises the risk of developing bladder cancer. Actos became the No. 1 diabetes drug in 2007 after Avandia was pulled off the market due to increased risk of heart attacks. Sales of Actos jumped to over 3.5 billion in 2010 alone.
The FDA has issued warning about the use of the drug and doctors are warned not to prescribe the drug to any patients who currently have or who have had bladder cancer. The FDA has approved new warning language for the drug to warn about the increased risk of bladder cancer.
If you or a loved one has developed bladder cancer after taking Takeda Pharmacteuticals Actos diabetes drug, you may be entitled to compensation. Please contact the Amarillo, Texas Actos attorneys at Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern L.L.P. at 806-373-1515 for a free case evaluation.
